Our Climate

Tucson is about 2400 feet above sea level. Summers are warm, but not as hot as those in Phoenix and Yuma. Temperatures peak in June and July with highs near 100 degrees and lows around 70 degrees. Even in December and January it is Spring-like with highs in the mid 60's and lows in the upper 30's and low 40's. None of those big snowstorms they get back East and up North! Of the 11 inches or so of annual rainfall, over half falls in the July to September rainy season, which nicely cools down the days. Desert vegetation with palo verde, cottonwood and mesquite trees is surprisingly lush. Many varieties of cacti display colorful flowers during the year.

Tucson is renowned for its superb weather. Warm and sunny throughout most of the year, the air is remarkably dry, with a low relative humidity. Though daytime summer temperatures are high, the temperature drops at sunset, providing cool, comfortable evenings.
